P.R.I.D.E – Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Enthusiasm
The men's team is down to the last few standing, committed and prepared to close out this painful season and hopefully be ready for next year and re-establish ourselves as a serious senior men's programme.
'One of the biggest problems was the number of missing players today, for all sorts of late random reasons, but the reality it was a longest away trip of the season, read into that what you want', said a visibly disappointed Coach Brock.
The result and game was painful, in quarter three we turned the ball over more times than we shot, so you can see losing 57:49 is not a real surprise.
However there are three major positives from this game. Femi 'Country' Osikoya played excellent defence talking, moving filling the lanes, grabbing the boards and generally being supportive and encouraging throughout the game. Jahlarni Clarence finally stepped into a men's kit today and more than held his own and hopefully will follow this up and recognise that he can play at this level.
The last plus was a young man with the name of Christian Barnett, playing in his third game of the day, put on the floor to initially give people a rest, Barnett locked down the Cougar guard and as such found himself on the floor a lot longer than Coach Brock probably expected.
'Bristol Storm Basketball Club is a very lucky club, we have what seems to bea constant flow of youngsters coming through who have a great desire and hunger for defence, and no fear attitude, I'm not talking arrogance and attitude but true players who every time we put them on the floor leave everything out there for us, Christian is the latest and he was brilliant tonight, to be fair to him he's been awesome all day.'
So some positives but as Coach Brock said before its rebuild and reload, for a fresh approach for next season, two games still to go though.
